Performance data from IONICON PTR-TOFMS series instruments:

The IONICON PTR-TOFMS series is leading their respective fields in the market of time of flight based PTR-MS instruments:

Mass Resolution

Mass resolution of IONICON PTR-TOF 6000, PTR-TOF 4000, PTR-TOF 1000 ultra and PTR-TOF 1000 instruments for protonated trichlorobenzene on m/z 181. The resolutions are calculated by dividing the full width at half maximum of the respective peak by 181 (FWHM method), i.e. without any fitting functions.

Sensitivity

Sensitivity (cps/ppbv) for IONICON PTR-TOF 6000, PTR-TOF 4000, PTR-TOF 1000 ultra and PTR-TOF 1000 instruments. The sensitivities are obtained by analysis of compounds from certified gas standards and gathered at the respective mass resolution levels given above.

Limit of Detection

Limit-of-Detection (LoD) of selected m/z for IONICON PTR-TOF 6000, PTR-TOF 4000, PTR-TOF 1000 ultra and PTR-TOF 1000 instruments. LoDs are calculated using the 3σ (standard deviation) method for integration times between 1 and 60 s.

Statistical Performance

Minimum integration time needed to achieve a relative error of 5% and 10%, respectively, while analyzing a concentration of 100 pptv at maximum measured sensitivity with IONICON PTR-TOF 6000, PTR-TOF 4000, PTR-TOF 1000 ultra and PTR-TOF 1000 instruments. The relative errors are calculated dividing the square-root of the ion count rate by the ion count rate.

Utmost sensitivity and low LoD are important, but how about the other 4 major dimensions that determine a real IONICON-grade PTR-MS? Learn more about the importance of ion chemistry quality.
