Air Monitoring Series

Two men in a bright, modern laboratory work together at a computer station. One man stands and points toward a monitor while the other sits and operates the keyboard, surrounded by technical equipment and white laboratory cabinets.

Our automated trace gas monitoring solutions are trusted by many industrial customers from all over the world. Based on our real-time analyzers equipped with our advanced data processing, integrated calibration and multiplexing systems, we conceive fully automated air monitors supplying crucial data.

Direct Trace Gas Analysis – IONICON Automated Air Monitoring Solutions

The cornerstone of the series is IONICON’s proprietary Automated Measurement and Evaluation (AME) software suite. Operating as an embedded expert system, AME eliminates the operational overhead of mass spectrometry by automated data processing to quantify target species, without the need of a scientific operator. Rather than raw, complex mass spectra, the end-user is provided with real-time concentrations via standard industrial protocols like Modbus TCP or general API access. The portfolio currently comprises:

  • VOCentinel - The Environmental and Process Monitor: Optimized for long-term ambient air quality monitoring, regulatory fenceline monitoring, and industrial safety – stationary or installed in mobile labs. The robust VOCentinel is based on a compact 19-inch rackmount or benchtop PTR-TOF. Operating with minimal human intervention, it provides a mass resolution exceeding 3,500 m/Δm and real-time quantification of diverse compound classes (including aromatics, siloxanes, amines, and sulfurs) down to <5 pptv detection limits. Multi-reagent ion matrices cycle automatically in less than one minute per sample point.

  • AMCentinel - The Semiconductor Yield Safeguard: Standing as the next-generation successor to the industry-proven AMC-Monitor T-1000, the AMCentinel is an all-in-one platform designed exclusively for the semiconductor industry to monitor Airborne Molecular Contamination (AMC). It monitors AMCs in cleanrooms, at Make-Up Air Units (MAU), and microenvironments in Front Opening Unified Pods (FOUPs) – fully integrating with advanced pod analyzers like the Pfeiffer Vacuum APA 302 or AMPC fab monitor. Delivering on-line limit of detection (LoD) in the low ppt range, the AMCentinel instantly flags residual or spilled solvents, condensables, refractories, and sticky organic acids before they can jeopardize the yield.

Whether tracking transient volatile metabolites at tool-level inside a multi-million dollar semiconductor fab or monitoring remote atmospheric trends in an automated research network, the IONICON Automated Air Monitoring Series bridges the gap between ultra-sensitive laboratory precision and hands-off industrial reliability.
