Air Quality: IONICON participating in the AEROSOLS Project
IONICON is proud to contribute to the AEROSOLS project, a 36-month research initiative launched in January 2024 and funded by the European Union and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). This collaborative effort, involving research institutions, companies, and government agencies, focuses on addressing the environmental and health impacts of transport emissions.
The AEROSOLS project aims to fill critical knowledge gaps by developing advanced methods to measure and model volatile and semi-volatile primary and secondary emissions from vehicles under real driving emissions (RDE) conditions. It also investigates how secondary aerosols form and evolve in the atmosphere.
These emissions are analyzed and categorized based on their environmental, health, and societal impacts. By doing so, AEROSOLS will propose innovative technological and legislative solutions to curb these emissions, ultimately improving air quality and safeguarding public health.
