Ultimate Performance in mass resolution, sensitivity and detection limits

The IONICON PTR-TOF 8000 and PTR-TOF 2000 are both leading their respective fields in the market of time of flight based PTR-MS instruments. The PTR-TOF 8000 features the highest mass resolving power and the PTR-TOF 2000 the lowest detection limit of all commercially available PTR-TOF-MS systems. Below you will find a comparison of typical resolution, sensitivities and detection limits of the IONICON PTR-TOFMS series.

Performance data from IONICON PTR-TOFMS instruments:

New measurements* have lead to extraordinary performance data of IONICON off-the-shelve PTR-TOFMS series instrument. Here we share our latest results with you. For more information, please download our new PTR-TOFMS series white paper.

High Resolution

Graphs showing measured mass resolution of two PTR-TOF 8000 systems.
A maximum resolution of 7000-8000 can be seen.

Advantages of high mass resolution

Comparing Furan and Isoprene one can see the importance of very high resolution,
allowing to clearly separate both peaks.

Furan and Isoprene can easily be separated
and identified using a PTR-TOF 8000 system.

A time of flight with a lower resolution
will sum up both substances in one peak.

and Butene and their resolution
