“We are using the PTR-TOF 1000 to measure odorous compounds that are produced during intensive animal production. This is supporting our research program, which is focused on understanding and reducing the livestock smells. The PTR-TOF 1000 allows us to rapidly measure a selection of compounds over a broad concentration range, which we encounter depending on whether we sample directly from odorous area sources, production buildings or the surrounding environment."

"I am interested in the role played by reactive volatile organic compounds in the real time photochemistry that occurs in South Asian ambient air, where field measurements are particularly challenging. Ionicon PTR-MS instruments are rugged and combine high sensitivity with high time response enabling such difficult measurements of reactive volatile organic compounds to be made in real time."

At the Frontier of Airborne Research aboard NASA’s Flying Laboratory Using the opportunity provided by NASA’s Student Airborne Research Program (SARP) we gave wings to our newly developed CHARON aerosol inlet. In cooperation with the University of Oslo our team combined CHARON and a custom built PTR-TOF 4000 instrument. Airworthiness requires withstanding of heavy G-forces, […]
