Performance data, publications and application examples of IONICON PTR-TOF-MS instruments

Here we would like to share the performance of our PTR-TOFMS series with you. The IONICON PTR-TOF 8000 and the PTR-TOF 2000 are different but both have their advantages. Below you will find a comparison of typical resolution and sensitivity of both instruments.

Performance data from IONICON PTR-TOF 8000 instruments:

Low Detection Limits

Single digit-pptv level LoD also with a time of flight based PTR-MS (click to enlarge graphs):

High Resolution

Graphs showing measured mass resolution of two PTR-TOF 8000 systems.
A maximum resolution of 7000-8000 can be seen.

Advantages of the high-resolution PTR-TOF 8000

Comparing Furan and Isoprene one can see the importance of very high resolution, allowing to clearly separate both peaks.

Furan and Isoprene can easily be separated and identified using a PTR-TOF 8000 system. A time of flight with a lower resolution will sum up both substances in one peak.
