Why is an IONICON PTR-MS very well suited for your measurement tasks?
Major research areas in the domain of Bioscience Engineering (Ghent University) encompass research in food chemistry, food microbiology and preservation, environmental chemistry and technology, chemical ecology and plant host signaling. In the specified research areas, the group of the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) plays an important role. Some VOC have biological effects at very low concentrations (sub ppbv) and are usually present in complex mixtures, which make VOC analysis quite a challenge. The introduction of PTR-MS enables to take major steps towards VOC monitoring. The PTR-QiTOF instrument is unique in its combination of (a) sensitivity (b) real time monitoring possibilities and (c) increased identification quality through high resolution mass spectrometry.
